hello summer holidays. 14/11.

What a day we had! Humidity and sunshowers couldn't dampen our spirits rather we were excited to get back out on the streets. After taking a break over the exam period we're finally on holidays! We decided to go back to our usual hangouts to see who we could find. It was great to see people out and about and just enjoying the vibe that comes along with spring/summer. Street performers, business men and people just enjoying the city. Melbourne's such a diverse place, I love being a part of it and meeting interesting people along the way. I hope you enjoy reading about the people we photographed this week, they were so lovely and all up for a chat!
B.
This guy and his mate were just hanging out at the GPO building, heckling people as they walked by. as they were funny and entertaining I thought i'd go over for a chat. I was fascinated by his extremely skinny guitar which is the same as a normal guitar just lighter. It's called a 'backpackers guitar' apparently, and was made in mexico. He played me a tune and I let him get back to watching the world go by. (photo uploaded to facebook)

This dog was absolutely gorgeous, Michael and I both agreed we should upload a photo. It's owner was pulling it along on a bike and it looked like it was riding it. I don't know if it was for a street performance but it was entertaining and many stopped to watch. What I thought was a bit dodgy though was the fact the dog was dyed yellow, animal cruelty or harmless fun? (photo uploaded to facebook)

So after getting distracted by all the interesting people at the GPO building, back to what we're here to do- find some great street fashion. This girl caught my eye at uni. Her high-waisted jeans and heels were great. I think i'm starting to get obsessed by wedge heels, I fell in love with the black ones shown below!

I saw this girl walk to the tram stop, she was so chuffed that I asked for her photo. I love it when people are modest, it makes me feel like i've made their day by just stopping them for a moment. Her skirt bag and heels shown below were absolutely gorgeous! (photo uploaded to facebook)

The girl below was our first selection of the day on what was a strange day weather wise. It rained on our way into the city which was quite depressing before the summer gods blessed us with their presents. I liked this girl, she had strong eyes and the natural gift of being able to relax and not pose.

We noticed this girl on Bourke St but got distracted and didn't take her photo. But she caught my eye again at Fed Square and this time with her boyfriend. I thought they were a cute couple so I thought I'd take a picture of them both and then take the picture of the girl by herself. It's a nice way to relax a boyfriend while your trying to photograph his girl. There's always that sense of "oh my god he's trying to steal my girlfriend", so anything to by pass that is always a positive. It's funny nothing in her outfit matched or fitted any other item, however some how it all worked.
M.

I saw this cute young girl watching the Croatian Festival and liked how comfortable she looked. I decided to run after her and she had a very nice smile when I caught up with her. There's nothing like an out of control head band, good stuff!

As soon as the sun comes up and i'm in the city, I always start fighting the urge to go to the Roof Top Bar for a couple of bevs. The urge got the better of us once again yesterday and we decided to abandon shoot and climb the long stair case. It was packed as always on a warm day with plenty of beautiful people having a jive to some summer beats. I found my self immersed in the vibe becoming philosophical about how liberated the crowd seemed. Then I realised I was just semi-pissed and talking shit.
All in all is was great to get back out there,
Bring on summer, I fucking love you!

The fleshy Part of the Thigh. 25/10/11

It's nearly November and all of a sudden you can almost feel the general atmosphere of life changing. Summers nearly here, and with that people are starting to let their hair down a little and dip their toes into the pool of happiness.
I attended a going away party on the weekend and decided to take lots of photos and try out a new flash I bought last week. There were plenty of gorgeous girls around in wonderful royal colours so I thought I'd get a few snaps for the blog.
I hope you enjoy a little change in style.
Keep living the dream, your sunshine is just around the corner.

here comes the sun. 20/10.

What a week we’ve had! With the lovely weather everyone’s been out and about in the city making the most of it. It’s been odd not being able to properly set aside time this week to shoot and just soak up the sun. With exam period and final assignments taking up most of my time it’s been hard. But what’s great about university campuses is that you could be walking to a tutorial or a lecture and come across someone interesting to have a chat to on your way. This happened a lot in the last few days and i’ve spontaneously been able to ask people for their photos. Fingers crossed the weather stays like this and doesn’t shy away! I took quite a few shots so I uploaded some to Facebook too. You can view them here- http://www.facebook.com/pages/AestheticJungle/120856451320361

I saw this girl on one of the main uni walkways and she caught my eye straight away. Maybe it’s just me, but I just love non-denim high waisted shorts in the summer.

This guy and his friend were just having a relaxed walk when I asked for their photo. It’s not every day you see a guy sporting suspenders and a lovely hat around campus so it was great both of them stopped for a chat. His friend was also wearing a great blue jumpsuit which i’ve uploaded to our Facebook. When I’m shooting I love it if  people aren’t awkward about it. I don’t mind if they are but it makes it a bit more fun if they’re getting into it, giving different poses. These guys were those people, not shy at all! When I grabbed a photo of both of them they even started swing/ballroom dancing for fun. I wish I knew how to dance like that!
B.
What I’ve gradually been noticing while doing the blog is that I love ‘out there’ outfits but also simple ones. If someone has one accessory or piece of clothing that stands out it often attracts my attention. The thing that stood out to me about this girl were her shoes and sunnies, loved them. What was even better was that she was happy for me to photograph her.
B.

On my way to a tute I saw this girl by one of the most gothic parts of the university. Believe it or not, this entrance is to a car park. I honestly wish I could say it led to somewhere more epic! Even though she was in a rush, she gave me a few minutes of her time to photograph her. I must say I’ve always wanted to take a photo in this location so it was a great coincidence when I came across this girl when I did.

B.

While taking a break from class simplicity again caught my eye in the form of a lovely olive green dress and summer hat. I wanted to take this girls photo in front of a cooler background but unfortunately many university’s are concrete jungles. So brick walls had to do this week and I don’t think they look too shabby.

a beautiful day. 13/10.

Today was simply a wonderful day to get back out there and take a few snaps. The holes of life we face such as uni and full time work have deepened lately making getting out shooting much more difficult. However summer and the holidays are coming and with that we will be able to get out there do what we love much more frequently.
I could almost smell summer today, as I smoked cigarette after cigarette dreaming of a beautiful beach, with a beautiful girl and the elusive mind set of not having to do anything.
Lets hope that day is just around the corner.
I will be going to Japan for a few weeks over New Years Eve, so I look forward to capturing some traditional and authentic styles from the deep barrows of Tokyo.
Peace.

This girl caught my eye in one of those moments when the sun hits perfectly and lights people up like their God. I thought her look was very soft and gentle. Something quite natural.
M.

This girl was working for FOX FM at the library. They were promoting something to do with Switzerland. She was very nice and the combination of a girl, Switzerland and a nice day was too much for me to let go.
Just love the Alps.
M.

I almost got a bit sentimental when I spotted this guy. His look is very similar to my own and only a few weeks ago I shaved my head and said goodbye to my own bun. His had that perfectly knotted samuri feel about it. If I could ever give a fashion tip, it would simply be wear clothes that fit you and work on you. You can buy a five thousand dollar coat if you want, but if it doesn't work on you, you still have shit fashion, you're five grand down and you're probably looking for the West Gate Bridge.
M.
As soon as I saw this girl I just had to ask her for her photo, I just adore high waisted pants like these. I loved the pairing of the gold clasp on the belt and her gold watch. She was absolutely lovely and we had a lovely chat by the GPO building.
B.

I spotted this girl while we were just sitting watching the world go by. Even though she was a bit shy about having her photo taken, she was nice enough to stand up so I could take a snap. She said that she hadn't been sure about wearing grey socks like she was, yet I think they're great. Goes to show it's worth experimenting now and again!
B.
For me, it must have been high waisted pants day. I saw so many people wearing them in such gorgeous ways, i'm starting to think I may have to invest in some! As i've read about, this season bright colours are 'in', i'm not often a fan of trends but in this case I saw how it can really work. For me the colourful socks are just the icing on the cake!
B.
Just when I thought i'd wrapped up my day study procrastination continued when I spotted this girl park her bike. I thought her use of red and the retro sunnies were gold. Perfect for a spring afternoon like we had today, fingers crossed this weather hangs around!
