See You Later Summer!

Well summer may have officially ended ages ago, but I think the unofficial end has now surpassed us as well. The warm summer days now seem to be out numbered by the cooler less vibrant kind. However this isn't necessarily a bad thing. The winter wardrobe can now be awaken from its hibernation and with it many wonderful outfits. The question is, what new styles and contradictions will this winter bring.
P.S. Yes I know it's only autumn, but shit, lets get exited.

This girl was struggling along with several huge folios, bags and papers rolls when she caught my eye. Her sunny's were great and matches her blacks very well. I think nearly every person I have stopped around campus seems to be studying fashion design. I suppose that is much of a surprise.

It's interesting that in the last year Michael and I have refined what we like to see in people, and often we have differing views. When we saw this guy however it was a consensus, we love his look. Particularly his blue socks!

Having hung around at RMIT for a while it was time for me to tram back up the road to Melbourne Uni. On my way I spied this guy from across the road and as he stopped i ran across and asked him for his photo. He's an artist and was just heading back to his studio after having been interstate. I just loved everything about his look, especially the fact that he wasn't trying- rather it was just what he felt the most comfortable in after a long trip.

On my return to Melbourne Uni I ventured through crowds of people in the North Court due to the Union's Tuesday BBQ. This girl caught my eye as she was wearing what I love at the moment- a shirt (that could be a men's shirt), some kickin' maroon jeans and heavy boots. I would label this a 'tom boy' look and she pulled it off perfectly! She was also happy enough for me to one- interrupt her conversation and two- find the ideal location. It was a pleasure meeting and taking her photo!

One of the best social events at Melbourne Uni for students commuting would have to be the Union BBQ every Tuesday from 1pm. In my first year of uni I would enjoy my break from classes with a sausage and free beer. This year, my last, they have upped the anti by bringing in wonderful artists to play. A few weeks back Washington played and this week was Owl Eyes. I loved they're music and was disappointed I only got to see one song. With bands like The Vasco Era coming up later in the semester, it's definitely a weekly event not to be missed if you're in the area!

My endeavour for the best bike and person combo has continued. Still without any personal success, i'm still enjoying seeing cool people riding their two wheeled machines. This dudes socks and shorts matched his bike. The spectacular fine details of style.

Campus Specialties

Time has been scarce of lately as we have inevitably fallen in a hole that can only be described as semester one. However i've noticed of late how many cool people are just generally walking around uni. So i've started to take my camera with me most days and take shots of people around campus between classes and over lunch. It's stacks of fun walking round, meeting lots of  interesting people, dressed in a fascinating way with creative minds a like.
M.
It's funny, although we have been doing this for a long time now and I must have asked hundreds if not thousands of people if I can take their photo. For some reason I was shitting myself at uni, as if I was in some demographic to close to home. But I saw this girls hair light up in the sun and letting her go was simply not going to happen. So I grew a set and clicked that shutter. Love her hair and tights.
M.
I must have some sort of a crush on blond haired girls when the sun comes out. Something special happens. I also noticed while editing both these girls photos the blonde hair black top combination. I wonder what the girl below was drawing.
M.

Nothing better than a relaxed brother on a bike.
M.

Some sharp red on what appears to be a metal T-Shirt. Couldn't resist the combination. There's a lot of contrast and contradiction here that creates something interesting.
M.
I nearly went into shock when I turned around and saw this girl. She seemed so elegantly dressed for a regular day at the office. What a wonderful dress and a glorious day.
M.
I really want a bike at the moment. But until I get one I guess I will just take photos of stylish ones. And of course with stylish people riding them.

The smallest detail on a person, can create an idea.

Unfortunately I am already snowed under with projects and assignments making blogging each week a serious challenge. I can't believe it, this early in the year I should be laying on a beach with coconut cocktail and not studying. However the only good thing that has come from this is I am now more than ever inspired and motivated to walk the streets with my camera. I took these photos a week or two ago but time seems to be flying at the moment. The weather has been lovely lately, filling the streets with lots of special people willing to show off their summer collection. I've noticed lots of girls wearing the cut off short shorts that used to be jeans. They always look funny but there's something very cute about them.
M.

I saw this lady looking at some flowers and she nearly blended into them. She was very neatly dressed and I like the top and neckless combination. Her skirt also matches the light in the background. Which is nice.
M.

We go to Little Collins St all the time because there's no cars which means you can shoot on the road and also do some serious people watching. However on the contrary we always struggle to find people here which is a pity. This dude was getting a coffee and looked like a cool cat so I snapped him up.
M.

This girl had something quite special that not even a photo can explain. Sometimes when you see someone that wow feeling comes over you and it's almost a rush. I often get asked by people on the street what do you want me to do while you take the photo. Simply enough I don't want anyone to do anything, but go about their day like i'm not there and relax while to take the shot.

february lovin'

It's been a while since we've searched the streets for all of your pretty faces.
So hence these photos are now officially apart of the first proper post for 2012, feel honoured!
We started our day like we usually do- with a coffee -and then moved on to our usual hunting grounds.
We were happy to see that the summer sun had brought everyone out for the day and that the city was full. Inspired to make this year even better than the last, Michael and I stuck it out in places that we previously wouldn't have just to get the perfect shot.
We think we got a few gems, hopefully you agree!
B.
I spotted this girl while she was walking past the GPO building. It was a rare moment when Michael and I both saw people at the same time and shot them both simultaneously.
I just love this girls dress and sunnies. It was so individual and perfect for a summers day!
B.
This girl caught our eye while we were camping out in Little Collins St.
Even though she was fixing a shop front I thought I'd ask fr her photo anyway. I loved her hair and bright dress as it stood out of the busy crowds passing her by. She wasn't as convinced as me as she usually wears a wig, but I think her hair works just as it is.
B.
For the first post of the year I had a feeling i'd be chasing someone down the street or appear 'stalkerish'.
The usual.
When I saw this girl that was the case. I waited by an ATM until she was done and then we tried a few locations to get the lighting right. Even though this might've seemed creepy she was happy to give us some time to get the shot right. She was a natural in front of the camera, giving different poses and having fun.
Definitely my favourite shoot and meet of the day.
B.

Just as we thought we'd finish up for the day this girl walked past with her friends. Even though she was modest about her outfit, I thought it was great! Simple yet colourful and unique.
